Yellow Child Beanie/Hat

This is a simple beanie or hat for a child 4-5 years old.

51cm circumference of their head = 60 stitches with 8ply yarn.

  • 4mm double pointed needles
  • 8 ply yarn

CO 60 on two needles
Row 1: K3, P3 – repeat until the end of the row, then join with DPNs.
K3, P3 for about 8-10cm, depending on how much ribbing you need
Then plain knit for another 10cm

Decrease for the crown (mark the beginning of your row)
K8, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K7, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K6, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K5, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K4, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K3, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K2, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
Knit a row
K1, K2tog – repeat until the end of the row
K2tog – repeat

Cut the yarn with a 15cm tail, thread through remaining stitches and knot.
